Suspected child sexual abuse gang busted in Kot Addu

MUZAFFARGARH – A child abuse ring harking back to the horrific Kasur scandal has been unmasked in Kot Addu, where at least 26 children were allegedly sexually assaulted by a gang, the police officials said.

According to Dawn, the gang also filmed the crimes to blackmail the parents and prevent them from going to the police. However, the parents of two victims have recently filed complaints with the police.

One parent alleged that his 12-year-old child had gone missing from home last month and was found unconscious in a street after two days. My son was raped by the gangsters, he added.

Later on, when the police formed a special team to investigate the case, several other parents who had initially hesitated in approaching the police also reported similar incidents.

Speaking to the media, District Police Officer Malik Awais Ahmed said that three suspected members of the gang had been arrested in connection with the case. The detained suspects have also confessed to kidnapping and raping at least 26 children, he added.
