LAHORE – The year 2020 is proved very unfortunate for Pakistan as the country lost not only five costly planes in the first five months but also deprived of nearly 110 precious lives including pilots of PAF and Pakistan Army.
Here is the full detail of the crashes from January 2020 to May–2020
JAN-7
An aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed while on a routine operational training mission near Mianwali. Both the pilots, Squadron Leader Haris bin Khalid and Flying Officer Ibaadur Rehman, aboard the PAF FT-7 aircraft lost their lives in the crash.
FEB-12
A Mashak aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy, Risalpur crashed at Asif Killay in Takht Bhai in Mardan district due to technical fault.
The pilot was injured in the crash. The Rescue 1122 ambulance rushed the injured pilot Abu Bakr to the Mardan Medical Complex wherefrom he was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Mardan. The sources said the aircraft was on a training mission when it developed some fault.
MAR-23
A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) F-16 aircraft crashed near Shakarparian in Islamabad during rehearsals for the March 23 parade. Wing Commander Nauman Akram was martyred in the crash, PAF confirmed.
APR-13
A Pakistan Army aircraft, Mushaq — crashed near Gujarat during a routine training mission, according to the military’s media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Major Umer, an instructor pilot, and Lieutenant Faizan, a student pilot, were martyred during the crash.
“Major Umer, a resident of Gujarat, and Lieutenant Faizan, a resident of Kalar Kahar, Chakwal, embraced Shahadat,” the ISPR statement said.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger plane has crashed near the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi just a minute before landing on Friday.
The flight PK-8303 from Lahore was about to land in Karachi when it crashed at the Jinnah Garden area near the populated area of Model Colony in Malir.
