ISLAMABAD – The outgoing Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar paid a farewell call on President Dr Arif Alvi at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday.
President Alvi commended Mukhtar’s services as the head of the premier intelligence agency and also lauded his professionalism and leadership qualities in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Alvi said the ISI had been rendering remarkable services in the defence of the motherland and fight against terrorism.

He also expressed good wishes for the general and his family in their future life.
Naveed Mukhtar, who retired on October 1 after serving the Pakistan Army for 35 years, has been replaced by former Director General of Military Intelligence (MI), Lt-Gen Asim Munir as the new ISI chief.
Munir, who was the front-runner for the top slot, belongs to the infantry regiment of the military.
