Facing touchscreen dead zone issue on Galaxy S9 amp; S9 Plus? Samsung presents weird solution

SEOUL – South Korean tech giant Samsung has recently launched its flagship devices Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ globally, however, the mobile manufacturer is facing flak owing to a glitch in its rollout.

The new smartphones offer upgraded 10nm innards, a toughened chassis and a new camera with variable aperture and the ability to capture ‘Super Slo-Mo- video footage.

However, Growing number of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users are complaining touchscreen issues on different forums including Reddit and Samsung’s official forum that the display panel stops the touchscreen from registering inputs in certain areas resulting in ‘dead zones’.

Some users said they’ve been able to fix the issue by performing a factory reset.

On the other hand, Samsung has said that it’s aware of the issue, and has encouraged those experiencing issues to contact it directly as they believe that reports are currently from limited users.

According to Samsung’s statement:

“At Samsung, customer satisfaction is core to our business and we aim to deliver the best possible experience. We are looking into a limited number of reports of Galaxy S9/S9+ touchscreen responsiveness issues. We are working with affected customers and investigating. We encourage any customer with questions to contact us directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.”

However, this isn’t the first time Samsung faced these kinds of complaints as previously the company halted the production and recall of Galaxy Note 7 after its batteries were exploded in multiple cases.
