PESHAWAR – At least one soldier embraced martyrdom and another sustained bullet injuries in a militant attack along Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists attempted fire raids on troops busy in fencing along the Pak-Afghan border in the west of Gurbaz.
The martyred soldier was 29-year-old sepoy Niaz Ali from Mardan district.

The attack comes a day after six terrorists killed and two army soldiers martyred in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Ladha area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan tribal district.
The raid triggered a heavy exchange of fire, ISPR said in a statement. “Nanakar, a high-value target responsible for attacks on local residents and tribal elders, was among those died in today’s raid.”
