Christians celebrating Christmas across world today

ISLAMABAD – The Christian community in Pakistan as well as across the world is celebrating Christmas today (Monday) to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ (AS).

Special services are being held in churches across the world to celebrate the festival with traditional zeal.

In order to prevent any untoward situation, strict security measures have been taken around the country. Around 1,500 security officials have been deployed at churches in Islamabad alone.

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have congratulated the Christian community on Christmas day.

The President in his message said that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights for all minority communities and the government is fulfilling its constitutional and moral responsibilities.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in his felicitation message said that Jesus Christ (AS) brought and preached the message of peace, brotherhood and love for the whole humanity.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan also extended happy wishes to Christian citizens.
