Strasbourg, also known as the ‘Capital of Christmas’ started in 1570. It has bretzels, pain d’épices (savoury and sweet pastries), and hot spiced beverages in all its 10 markets with 300 stalls. Lots to go about; eat, drink, and be merry.
2) Viennese Christmas Market, Vienna, Austria
The first Viennese Christmas Market was held in 1298 and now has about 20 markets in the city to choose from. What’s so special about this market is it’s bizzare Christmas tradition with a huge ice rink for skating. With 151 stalls, the market is lit for a partying eve all the time.
3) Berlin WeihnachtsZauber, Germany
For all the 12 days of holidays, if you could visit one one Christmas market, then better visit the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin, Germany. With more than 200 stalls offering famous Belgian treats (Hint: waffles), ice skating, a Ferris wheel, light shows and, a huge Christmas tree, one could get lost in the festivity of the place alone.
