Pakistani man injured by India s BSF fire

RAWALAKOT (Web Desk) – At least one person was seriously injured after Indian border forces resorted to unprovoked firing in Charikot Sector along the Line of Control in Rawalakot today (Saturday).

Once again the Indian army has violated the ceasefire accord and injured one Pakistani citizen, who has been shifted to the nearby hospital for medicinal assistance.

Earlier in December last year, Pakistan and India had pledged to uphold the 2003 LoC ceasefire accord which had been left in tatters by repeated violations that year.

The directors general of military operations (DGMOs) of the two countries had agreed to a number of steps to keep the ceasefire accord intact. The meeting had taken place on the initiative of the political leadership of the two countries for ending tensions along the LoC.

The nuclear-armed rivals have fought three wars since 1947, two of them over Kashmir. Both control a part of the Muslim-majority region but claim it in full.
