CPEC becomes hub for regional connectivity

LAHORE – China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has become a hub for the regional connectivity, prosperity, and development in the region covered by the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO).

This was said by Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal during an interview with PTV. The minister said the mega project will be a game changer for Pakistan.

He said Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan will become gateways of CPEC. He said Trade Zones will be set up in Islamabad, all the four provinces, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, and FATA.

Ahsan said Chinese and Pakistani companies will make large-scale investment in these zones, which will not only create new jobs but also help transfer new technology to Pakistan.

The minister said a special force of some 10,000 security personnel has been constituted for providing security to the people working on CPEC related projects.
