Utility Stores Corruption scam: Lifeline of the common man lost 71 crore in 3 years

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – A total of Rs. 710 million has been embezzled from the state-owned Utility Stores Corporation in the last 3 years.

This was revealed in a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Industries and Trade held on Wednesday (Today).

The committee was investigating into corruption worth 360 million in the Utility Stores Corporation over the last three years. However, as the investigation progressed they found corruption to the tune of Rs. 710 m, worth almost double what they had initially expected.

The committee was told that 139 individuals had been removed for participating in the scam, including 17 from Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, 37 from Punjab, 58 from Sindh and 28 from Balochistan.
