LAHORE (Staff Report) – Provincial Minister for Finance, Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha on Friday said the government was making sincere efforts to strengthen economy and overcoming different challenges.
Addressing a seminar here, she said that projects like hydel, wind and coal power plant at provincial level were serious efforts by the government to overcome problems.
The Minister said promotion of tax culture was need of the hour but it did not mean that more burden be put on the poor people.
Referring to complaints of business community of Chamber of Commerce and problems of the industrial sector, Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha said that aim of visiting the chamber again and again was resolution of problems of traders and assurance of government cooperation.
She said that promotion of local industries was an integral part of government policy adding that government was introducing a best system of internal audit of provincial departments.
Vice Chairman Liaison Committee Lahore Tax Bar Umer Zaheer Mir, Prof. of Economics University of entral Punjab Dr. Qais Aslam, Columnist Mujahid Mansoori and Director Hamid Nizami Absar Abdul Ali also addressed the seminar. Senior Vice President Chamber of Commerce Almaas Haider, President Nasir Saeed and other members were also present on the occasion.
