Heavy rain wrecks havoc in Lahore

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Heavy Monsoon rain lashed out the provincial capital Lahore on Saturday as torrential downpour lasted for four hours converting roads to puddles.

Rain fall tripped as many as 70 electricity feeders of the city however, WAPDA officials are taking steps to restore electricity in all the affected areas as soon as feasible.

Continuous rain in different parts of the city perturbed office goers as 54 mm rain was recorded by the Pakistan Metrological Department.Met department has predicted rain fall in next two days for Lahore. Temperature reduced to 24 C for Lahore today after heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed all government authorities to remain alert. “Rain water should be drained out from low lying areas at the earliest,” he said.

The MET department has forecasted rainfall in Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Kashmir. All the concerned departments have been alerted fearing heavy rain.
