ISLAMABAD – Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at his office on Monday.
The military chief, in his first ever meeting with the 22nd prime minister of Pakistan, congratulated Imran Khan on assuming the office and conveyed his good wishes for steering the country.
Both the civil-military bigwigs discussed the security situation and expressed resolve to bring enduring peace and stability in the country while also continuing efforts for regional peace.
Imran Khan, the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, swept to power in the July 25 polls surprising the political commentators and rivals alike.
He was sworn in as the 22nd Chief Executive of the country on 18 August, amid hopes of progress and the change which his party promised.
