Anushka Sharma named PETA’s Person of the Year

MUMBAI – Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma has been named PETA’s Person of the Year. The newly wed Anushka Sharma and husband Virat Kohli both are animal lovers advocates of animal rights for their unconditional love for furry little friends.

Anushka is also a vegetarian, and has helped for the rights of dogs in Mumbai (protecting them from fireworks) and also horses that are forced to pull carriages. Virat Kohli on the other hand, was named PETA’s Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity in 2015.

Speaking about naming Anushka as PETA’s person of the year, PETA Associate Director Sachin Bangera said, “Anushka Sharma is a proud animal rights proponent whose kindness and initiative know no bounds.”

Mr Bangera continued on the same notion, “PETA is calling on everyone to follow her lead by eating healthy plant-based meals, helping community animals by speaking up when they are suffering, and always keeping an eye out for new ways to help animals.”
