CJP Mian Saqib Nisar takes suo moto notice of revenge rape in Multan

ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar took suo moto notice of the rape of a 16-year-old girl as punishment for a rape allegedly committed by her brother, here on Thursday.

The chief justice sought an immediate report of the horrendous incident from Inspector General Police Punjab, Arif Nawaz.

The notice taken by top judge exercising his special powers relates to an incident that took place in Multan when a panchayat was assembled in after a man named Umar Wawda raped a 12-year-old girl on July 16.
