Aamir Khan apologizes for 'Thugs of Hindustan' failure
MUMBAI -  Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan has profusely apologized for Thugs of Hindostan not working with the audience. This was after his multi-starrer struggled to reach Rs 150 crore at the box office.

Aamir's apology has come days after SRK had expressed his sadness on people’s criticism for Thugs of Hindustan.

Having a talk with media, Aamir said that he took full responsibility for the disappointing performance of his film. Aamir stated, “I think we went wrong. I would like to take full responsibility for that. You can be sure we tried our level best.”

The film also had Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles. On its opening day, TOH had smashed box office records when it collected more than Rs 50 crore in a single day. However, post-Diwali, the film’s dismal performance started and it failed to get more profit.

Aamir said that he was aware that only a small minority of his fans had appreciated the film. The sadness in Aamir’s voice was evident even though he did his best to conceal his emotions.

Not too long ago, his friend Shah Rukh Khan had explained just how hurtful it was to see people not appreciating Aamir’s latest release. Shah Rukh’s words were indicative of the pain Aamir had gone through as critics began to question his film-making skills.

Also, a close friend of Aamir had earlier told the public that Aamir did not charge for doing films, made under productions other than his own. According to Khan's friend, He took a share of the profit only after the film had recovered its cost.
