NEW YORK (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said that Pakistan is providing greater opportunities to women in all fields of life and it is determined to ensure more central role for women in political and economic spheres.
While addressing a session of Global Leaders Meeting on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment in New York, the premier said in Pakistan we have more girls pursuing higher education and professional careers today than ever before.
Nawaz Sharif said the Government is creating an environment that provides women and girls greater access to education, economic resources, skills development and employment opportunities. We are building and strengthening institutions that are more responsive to the needs of women and their empowerment, he added.
The meeting which was co-organized by China and UN Women aimed equal opportunities for women in all fields of life.
