SAN FRANCISCO – Facebook said on Wednesday that its second-quarter profit had soared 186 percent from a year ago to $2 billion, as its global user base grew to 1.71 billion.
“Our community and business had another good quarter,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and chief executive of the world’s biggest online social network.
“We’re particularly pleased with our progress in video as we move towards a world where video is at the heart of all our services.”
