Legendary Pakistani singer, Shehzad Roy begun his music career in 1995 and has produced six albums which gave us memorable hits such as “Teri Soorat” and Kangana”, however a true humanitarian at heart, Roy founded his Zindagi Trust which is an NGO that strives towards improving the quality of education available to the average Pakistani.
He has also produced and hosted 2 documentary series, Chal Parha and Wasu aur Mein, and in 2005 was awarded the Sitara-i- imtiaz for his outstanding public service.
Now Shehzad Roy is setting his sight towards the world of cinema and according to a report by Instep, has been offered scripts by the likes of Anwar Maqsood and Faisal Qureshi.
“I’m acting in a movie,” Shehzad said. “We have two scripts with us right now. More than acting, the ambition is to make a film but yes, I am also acting. I won’t be the director of course, but I will have a role in the process of the film.”
The singer confirmed that he will be closely involved in the entire process of the film but added that whether he will be acting in one remains to be seen.
According to him, “After PSL, things will concretize with the film. But as far as acting is concerned, I will only do it if I think I can. That is why I’m a part of the process of the film. The role(s) are such that either they are in complete contrast to me or close to me, nothing is in between. It is more difficult to do a role that’s somewhere in the middle.”
