Underage Pakistanis to face straight deportation from Dubai airport, warns PIA

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has announced that passengers under 18 year are not allowed to travel to Dubai without the guardian.

In a letter issued by Pakistani national flag carrier to travel agencies and sales outlets, it is mentioned that according to the new law by Dubai airport authorities and immigration, any underage passenger travelling to Dubai without guardian will be deported back to their home country.

PIA has advised business partner to follow the new law before booking tickets to avoid any trouble for passengers at the Dubai airport.

Dubai authorities have enforced the injunctions to prevent child trafficking in the United Arab Emirates.

Previously, Air India had issued a similar letter for passengers but it gave a leverage that minors aged 18 and below can travel UAE with authorisation letter from their parents in case they are not travelling with them, which is effective from June 1.
