Five more death row convicts hanged in Lahore, Rawalpindi

LAHORE/RAWALPINDI (Online) – Five death row convicts on Friday have been hanged in prisons of Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The three condemned prisoners Nadim Shahzad, Samar Jan and Muhammad Riaz were executed in Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore.

Nadim Shahzad and Samar Jan had been convicted in the kidnapping and murder case of a child in 1998 while Riaz had been convicted in the murder case of persons in the Shalimar area of Islamabad.

Separately, two death row prisoners, Muhammad Ashraf and Zafar Iqbal, were hanged in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi. The convicted persons had gunned down two persons in 2002.

As many as 200 death convicts have been executed since December 2014.
