ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has condemned MQM Chief Altaf Hussain for using objectionable language against the state institutions.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Sunday, he said Altaf Hussain’s the fresh speech delivered from outside country was not that of any patriotic Pakistani.
Nisar said that Pakistani government would also take up the issue with UK authorities.
“We have already started preparing a draft for the legal action,” he said. “We will send dossier to Metropolitan police.”
The interior minister said that Pakistan would continue to extend its support to British authorities regarding Imran Farooq murder probe.
He said that Hussain’s last night speech was aimed at ridiculing and insulting the state institutions and armed forces of Pakistan. “The language used by Altaf Hussain can be of an enemy.”
Nisar said that nobody except MQM had lodged a protest against the ongoing operation in Karachi.
Altaf Hussain has invited NATO and India to Karachi, he said.
“Our armed forces are fighting a war of Pakistan’ survival and we are bound to respect them,” he maintained.
He, however, said that the government would not challenge MQM’s political status, which was a reality and government respects it.
