Senior al-Qaeda figure Sanafi al-Nasr killed in US strike

ALEPPO (Web Desk) – Senior official of world’s largest terrorist organisation al-Qaeda Sanafi al-Nasr has been killed in an alleged strike of United States in Al-dana area of Aleppo in Syria, said media reports on Saturday.

He was killed alongside a Moroccan operative Abu Yaser al-Muhajir and Abu Azzam al-Jazrawi, who the al-Qaeda chief in Hreitan region.

Sanafi is said to have been originally named as Abdul Mohsen Abdullah Ibrahim al-Sharikh. He was a Saudi national and 3rd cousin of Osama bin Laden. His two other brothers have been detained in Guantanamo.

Reports further added that Sanafi was placed at number 12 among Saudi Arabia’s 85 ‘most wanted’ list, He played central role in moulding Jabhat al-Nusra’s relations with Abdullah Azzam Brigades in Lebanon.
