Railway fares scaled up by 17 percent

LAHORE (Online) – The Railways authorities have scaled up fare of all trains by 17 percent.

New fare has been implemented and information has been sent to all major railway stations across the country through fax.

According to Online, an order has been issued from General Manager (GM) Railway headquarters that fare of all trains has been increased from November 15 all over the country by withdrawing subsidy on these fares.

A passenger who purchases ticket 48 hours before will have to pay additional fare of 10 percent and a passenger who purchases ticket after 48 hours will have to pay 15 percent additional fare plus 2 percent tax.

The passengers have appealed to Prime Minister and railway minister to withdraw the orders for enhancement in the fare forthwith.
