PM Nawaz vows to enhance trade with Sri Lanka to 1 billion in two years

COLOMBO (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday vowed to take bilateral trade with Sri Lanka to $1 billion in next two years.

Speaking to the Sri Lankan businessmen and journalists the premier said that Pakistan desires good economic relations with Sri Lanka.

He said both the countries have good political relations but the economic relations do not commensurate with the political relationships.

Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan offers attractive investment regime to the investors and Sri Lanka could take full benefit from it. He said we will also encourage our investors to invest in Sri Lanka.

On the occasion business community also informed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif about the difficulties faced by them while working in Pakistan. The prime Minister assured them that appropriate steps will be taken to resolve such problems.
