MUMBAI (News Desk) – Bollywood’s Munna Bhai, Sanjay Dutt, will now walk free by the end of next month (February) as Indian state minister for interior affair Ranjit Patil Wednesday approved his release from jail.
Sanjay Dutt was previously found to have returned to reported late to police from his furlough in January 2015. As a result the authorities decided to extend his imprisonment by five days.
However the latest orders did not penalise Sanjay and said the actor was in touch with police officials continuously for extension in his furlough duration.
The Indian Supreme Court had sentenced Sanjay Dutt to five years imprisonment for illegal possession of weapons in a case linked to 1993 Mumbai bombings which killed over 250 people.
