Sindh announces benefits for Palestinian students

KARACHI – Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (r) Maqbool Baqar has announced big benefits for Palestinian students studying in the Sindh province.

As many as 48 Palestinian students are studying in government engineering and medical colleges of the province.

Baqar has ordered to waive tuition and hostel fees of the Palestinian students.

The chief minister also directed universities to arrange scholarships for Palestinian students.

Over 300 students are presently enrolled in universities throughout Pakistan, including 48 in Sindh’s public education institutes, according to the Palestinian diplomatic representation in the nation.

Palestinian officials said 10,812 people have now been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7 when Hamas launched a cross-border attack in southern Israel, killing 1,400 people. 

The war is being dubbed as the bloodiest in the generations-long Israel-Palestinian conflict as 40 percent of those killed in Gaza are children.

In latest development dozens of Palestinians have been killed in intense overnight Israeli bombardments in the Jabalia refugee camp in the north and Sabra in western Gaza.
