Trafficking bid foiled, 17 Afghan children rescued near Attock

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – An attempt to traffick 17 Afghan children into Islamabad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was thwarted when the vehicle carrying them was stopped for a security check at Attock bridge here on Monday.

Media reports say the vehicle which carried a fake license number was impounded and the driver who did not carry his identity card was arrested.

Investigations revealed the 17 children aged between 12 and 20 and were being smuggled for work purposes. They are all in police protection now.
