SHARJAH (Staff Report) – Islamabad United defeated Lahore Qalandars by eight wickets in Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) ninth T20 match on Wednesday.
Islamabad United captain Shane Watson won the toss and elected to field first. Watson assumed the duties of captaining the United in absence of Misbah-ul-Haq, who has been rested for being injured.
Batting first Lahore Qalandars set 167-runs target in the given twenty overs. Muhammad Rizwan remained top scorer with 50 runs. Islamabad’s Sami picked two wickets.
Chasing the target, Islamabad United set highest opening stand. Openers Sharjeel Khan and Shane Watson scored 79 runs each. Lahore’s Ehsan Adil picked two wickets.
