The report further revealed that the false allegations were propagated through fake social media accounts, in bid to incite unrest and disrupt law and order.

Several activist, journos, and political commentators reportedly exploited the situation for political gain.

The committee expressed alarm over the manipulation of students and the social disruption caused by the spread of misinformation. It also noted the psychological impact on the alleged victim and her family, recommending that the government provide appropriate support.

The committee lamented college management for its inadequate response to the situation, citing a lack of established protocols for handling such incidents.
