BAJAUR – A group of militants has been killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media affairs wing said on Thursday.
In a statement, ISPR shared details about counter-terrorism operation in which forces killed nine terrorists on the night of October 24 in Bajaur District. The operation, based on intelligence, led to an intense firefight with the militants, resulting in the deaths of two suicide bombers and a high-profile leader, Said Muhammad.
Large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also found from the possession of the militan group. ISPR mentioned that individuals were reportedly involved in numerous attacks against security forces and innocent civilians.
Forces also initiated sanitization effort to eliminate any remaining khawarij in the area, reaffirming their commitment to eradicating terrorism from Pakistan.
This operation comes amid a worrying increase in terrorist activities across the country. Last month, a roadside bomb in Bajaur injured three policemen, targeting the vehicle of a station house officer during a routine patrol.
