ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday appointed Chief Marshal Sohail Aman as new chief of the air staff.
The president approved the appointment on advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Aman holds an excellent career of a professional soldier and have piloted F-16 and JF-17 thunder as well. He will command Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for the next three years.
The new air chief, after he assumes the power, will have the biggest challenge of cooperation with Pakistan Army during the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Earlier the outgoing Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt paid a farewell call on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee appreciated the services of the Chief of Air Staff in transforming Pakistan Air Force into a vibrant and more potent force.
