SKMHT funds received back in 2015: Imran Khan

PESHAWAR: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has responded that $3 million endowment fund of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital Trust (SKMHT) was received back in July 2015.

“Anyone can check SKMT accounts to verify as they are in the public domain,” said Khan on Twitter.

“For everyone’s information $3 m of SKMT Endowment Fund that was invested abroad was received back by SKMT in full in July 2015.”

He claimed it was typical of Sharifs (family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif) to try and sidestep their wrongdoings by targeting opponents instead of answering questions raised by Panama Leaks.

“Shameful how Sharifs can stoop so low as to try & damage biggest charitable institution in Pak simply to hide their own corruption,” said the PTI chief.

“Otherwise all Sharifs had to do was to call SKMTH to verify whether the money invested abroad had been returned.”

Earlier, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid along with other PML-N leaders criticized PTI chairman Imran Khan for investing abroad in offshore companies.
