KARACHI (Staff Report) – Polling for by-elections in National Assembly constituency NA-245 Karachi and Sindh Assembly constituency PS-115 Karachi is in progress.
The polling process started at 8:00am and will continue till 5:00pm without any formal break.
All major parties have fielded their candidates for both the constituencies. However main contest will be between MQM, PTI and PPP.
In NA-245, 4,13000 voters will exercise their voting rights while in PS-115 1,62614 voters will vote for candidates of their choice.
It may be recalled that NA-245 and PS-115 fell vacant because of resignations of MQM’s Rehan Hashmi and Arshad Vohra after they were elected in local bodies’ elections.
Sindh Government has made strict security arrangements at both the constituencies. Personnel of Pakistan Army, Sindh Rangers and Police have been deployed in and outside of every polling station ensure transparency and maintain law and order.
