Non-use of magnetic ink impedes voter thumbprint verification: NADRA

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – National Database & Registration Authority on Monday submitted the audit report concerning 38 constituencies to the judicial commission, recently formulated for carrying out a probe into the rigging allegations in the 2013 general elections.

According to the spokesperson for NADRA, owing to the non-use of magnetic ink during the elections, 100 percent verification of the voter thumb impression could not be achieved.

Upon this, the judicial commission, which is being headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Nasirul Mulk, remarked if the thumb impression could not be verified 100%, than it could not be treated as the basis to find rigging in any constituency alone.
