KARACHI – Toyota Indus Motors Company has finally launched Toyota Fortuner diesel variant today (Friday) in Pakistan.
The company is launching a diesel Fortuner due to growth in the local automobile industry, which has led to an exponential demand, and the requirement for a locally manufactured -diesel- 4×4 has grown alongside it.
IMC is shipping the New diesel Fortuner powered with 1GD-FTV (Hi) 2.8-liter engine which produces (130 KW) 174 horsepower at 3400 rpm and a torque of 450Nm at 1600-2400 rpm.
Toyota has embedded intercooler in the engine, which will increase its efficiency. Furthermore, the common rail direct fuel injection system is used in the vehicle, this type of fuel injection system is developed specially for diesel engines.
Toyota IMC has introduced push start, keyless entry and a Power Back Door (That can be automatically opened and closed with a press of a button) in Fortuner diesel variant.
The color of side-step has been changed in the new Fortuner, this time the company has put a silver colour side-step, and in the petrol variant, it is black. Diesel Fortuner is also fortified with welcome lamps as well.
As far as the safety features are concerned the company has embedded its 4×4 vehicle with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Emergency Brake Signal (EBS), Light Reminder, and Engine Oil levelling Warning light.
The new vehicle also comprises of Downhill Assist Control (DAC), the function automatically maintains low vehicle speed while driving down a steep slope by controlling the brake fluid pressure in off-road terrain.
The all-new 4×4 Fortuner has two different modes, which are Eco and Power modes, one can easily select the modes with a push of a button.
The new vehicle is priced at PKR 5.89 million (ex-factory).
