LAHORE – A leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) from Kasur has defected to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ahead of upcoming general elections.
Dr Azeemuddin Lakhvi announced his decision during a meeting with PTI chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, another politician from Kasur, Lt Colonel (r) Muhammad Hashim Dogar also announced to join the PTI during meeting with the PTI chief.
Azeemuddin will contest for the seat of MNA from NA 139 constituency, while Muhammad Hashim will contest for the seat of MPA from PP 177.

Last week, a lawmaker from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa quit PTI to join the PML-Q after reaching Chaudhry Shujaat’s residence.
Javed Nasim, who had been at odds with the PTI for several years, was elected to the provincial assembly from PK-3, Peshawar in the 2013 general elections.
