KSA- Saudi Arabia is celebrating the change in their culture and society by empowering women. Renowned designer Hatem Al-Alakeel beautifully representes the roles of women in the kingdom by putting them behind the steering in his new released short-film. He explains how literally and metaphorically women are getting the power to take their own decisions by stepping into the soci-political hemisphere.

He titled his film Sa’aqood which means “I will drive”. He stated how he likes the connectivity of driving with empowering women, driving is very symbolic.

Driving is a step up towards the progress of not only the women but the society, traditions and culture as well.

He further explained how it is not strictly about steering the car but it is about taking the control. The designer through such campaigns want to show how moderate and developed the kingdom is by sending positive image to the world, revolutionizing the abaya styles and the image of a Saudi Woman.
