PM Nawaz takes notice of PTI women rally manhandling incident

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday took notice of maltreatment of women at the public gathering of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Lahore.

The Prime Minister ordered immediate arrest of the persons involved in the act, a PM Office statement said.

The first incident of women manhandling took place in Islamabad at PTI’s foundation day rally two weeks ago, the party had to face embarrassment after the workers were harassed again at Lahore rally on Sunday despite Imran Khan’s assurance of taking strict measures to ensure there protection.

The PTI Chairman had tendered an apology over harassment at the rally in Islamabad.

PTI leader Naeemul Haq accused the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of sending their hooligans to sabotage the rally. He demanded the Punjab government to bring the culprits to justice.
