India fumes as Canadian PM Trudeau attends pro-Khalistan event

TORONTO – India fumed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reached an event held in connection with the Khalistan movement here the other day in Toronto.

A senior Indian official has elaborated Trudeau’s presence at the Khalsa Day event as a matter of concern for the Indian government, reported Hindustan Times on Saturday.

“The event was held at a Nagar kirtan in Toronto that featured Khalistani flags and posters of prominent Sikh leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale surely reveals his support for the cause”, the official lamented.

It is pertinent to mention that Trudeau was the first Canadian prime minister to attend the event since Paul Martin in 2005. He added that there are so many people who dub it a major setback for India.

Netizens are appreciating Justin Trudeau for schooling India about human rights and free speech through his participation in the event.

Meanwhile, Twitterati and Facebook users are also considering it as a clear and strong message to PM Modi from the Canadian Prime Minister.
