Mushtaq Ahmed appointed West Indies bowling coach

LAHORE – Pakistani legendary leg-spinner, Mushtaq Ahmed has been appointed the new bowling coach of the West Indies Cricket team.

According to media reports, Ahmed is expected to join the Carribean squad this month on a short-term appointment which can be converted into a long-term position as well.

Earlier, Mushtaq Ahmed had worked in coaching positions with the Pakistan Super League, Indian Premier League, Surrey as well as the English Cricket Board.

During his tenure with British team as a spin consultant for six years, the team won the T20 World Cup and multiple Ashes series.

PCB had not extended the agreement with Mushtaq who was working as head coach at National Cricket Academy, following which he started considering other options.

The leg-spinner was also part of Imran Khan led winning team of world cup 1992.
