KUALA LUMPUR – Afghanistan Under-19 national cricket team defeated Pakistan Under-19 national cricket team by seven wickets in their first match of U-19 Asian Cricket Competitions in Malaysia on Friday.
Pakistan batted first in the game and set a target of 58 runs.
The Afghan side managed to complete the target in just 8 overs after losing three wickets.
Mujeeb Zadran, who got six wickets from U19 team of Pakistan, performed a key role.
Naweenulaq and Yusuf Zazi took 2 wickets each against Pakistan.
Mujeeb Zadran was judged the best player of the tournament.
Pakistan will play against the United Arab Emirates on 12th (Sunday), and against Sri Lanka on 13th (Monday.
Afghanistan is in the same group with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates. Teams from eight countries are participating in the tournament.
The event is scheduled to be held from 9 – 20 November.
