BUENOS AIRES – Liam Payne, the former member of the world-famous band One Direction, tragically passed away after falling from third floor of hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 31-year-old vocalist succumbed to injuries on Wednesday at a hotel located on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighborhood. International media reports claimed that Payne was under influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
The late singer rose to fame alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Horan. The band One Direction formed after members appeared on the UK version of “The X Factor.” Following the group’s hiatus in 2015, Payne embarked on a successful solo career, releasing his debut album “LP1” in 2019.
Payne openly discussed substance abuse and had recently completed treatment, celebrating six months of sobriety over the summer.
