SEOUL – Smartphone manufacturer Samsung is working on S series’ 10th addition named Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, after the success of its S9 series model.
According to a report by The Bell, the South-Korean company has finalized the design of Galaxy S10 series and has shared it with panel maker at Samsung Display manufacturer.
Both the models of Galaxy S10 series would be launched in two types, regular (Galaxy S10) and big screen (Galaxy S10 Plus). Both models inherit Infiniti display design and are slightly larger than their predecessor, Galaxy S9.
There were expectations that the next Galaxy smartphone would have the foldable display, that’s been all the hype recently, however, according to the leak, the Galaxy S10 will have the usual Infinity Display that was first launched on the S8, the same screen as the S9 and S9 Plus.
The Infiniti display maximizes the screen size by eliminating the left and right edges (bezel) and physical bottom keys and is applied only to the Samsung flagship model. It was introduced from the Galaxy S8 series launched last year.
Samsung Galaxy S10 will feature a 5.8-inch display and 6.3-inch for Galaxy S10 Plus.
The Galaxy S10 is 0.03 inches larger than its predecessor while the Galaxy S10 Plus is 0.08 inches larger. The panel production schedule was set for November this year.
The report also claims that the Galaxy S10 will introduce an in-display fingerprint reader – which is being developed by three sensor companies, Qualcomm and Synaptics in the US, and Aegis Tech in Taiwan.
Apparently, a new 3D sensing camera is also on the Galaxy S10 feature list. As per the source, the module in question is currently under joint development by Israeli 3D camera solution company, Mantis Vision and camera maker Woodgate.
