NEW YORK (Web Desk) – Time has come for humans to seriously consider anti-natalism owing to the fast rate of depreciating resources on Earth.
Antinatalism is a philosophical position that assigns a negative value to birth, standing in opposition to natalism, that is birth.
Natalie Showmaker argues this idea in an article on ‘Big Think’, a website where philosophers and intellectuals from different walks of life come together to discuss novel and unconventional ideas.
Discussing the devastation caused by human population, Shoemaker said, “This planet is overpopulated and we’re consuming more resources than the Earth can reproduce.”
Last week, Global Footprint Network announced that humans of the Earth have already consumed a year’s worth of resources.
Shoemaker argued just like its necessary to control the animal population when it gets out of control, human population also need intervention, as overpopulation has devastating effects on the environment.
