Latest Update On Upcoming School Holiday Amid Worsening Smog

ISLAMABAD – Several Pakistani cities are witnessing toxic air with scores of people started getting infections from worsening air quality, prompting government to consider holidays in schools.

In a bid to address worsening smog crisis, the government mulled artificial rain and is considering school closure in coming days as a preventive measure.

The initiative for artificial rain is said to cost approximately Rs3.5 billion to national exchequer while authorities are also deliberating the possibility of announcing holidays to students in schools to keep juniors safe from high pollution.

This multi-faceted approach aims to protect citizens and improve air quality across affected regions like in Punjab and capital.

Punjab capital has been ranked as the city with the worst air quality in the world with Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching alarming levels.
