LAHORE – The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has halted admissions in MBBS and BDS programmes in line with the orders issued by the Sindh and Islamabad high courts.
The council has issued directives to all medical and dental colleges in this regard, stating that admissions will be started once a final decision is made by courts on the matter.
The development comes after several petitions were filed in high courts over alleged paper leak and out syllabus questions in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024.
Following the petitions, the courts barred the authorities from starting admissions in the medical programmes until further order.
It all started after MDCAT was marred by controversy in Sindh, with a joint action committee (JAC) alleging that the paper was leaked on social media before the exams.
It claimed that 184 out of 200 questions leaked online matched the official test taken by over 38,000 candidates on September 22 across Sindh.
