Wasim Akram to train promising young pacers

KARACHI (APP) – Supervised by former Pakistan captain and left-arm fast bowling legend Wasim Akram, PCB is organizing a two-week
camp for young and upcoming fast bowlers here at the National Stadium from August 1 to 13, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday.

Wasim Akram will be imparting training, coaching and tips to the bowlers to develop, polish and improve their bowling.

The National Selection Committee has picked up ten promising fast bowlers to attend this specialized program:

The selected bowlers included Mir Hamza (Karachi), Ahmed Jamal (Abbottabad), Majid Ali, Amir Yamin (Multan), Taj Wali, M. Altaf Khan (Peshawar), Ammad Butt (Sialkot), Azizullah (Peshawar), Muhammad Irfan (WAPDA/Sialkot), Sameen Gul (FATA), Bilalwal and Zia ul Haq (Lahore).

In the meantime, trials for the selection of talented fast bowlers is currently being conducted at five venues; those selected shall join the camp.

The young fast bowlers selected from the remote areas for LG – Super Speed Stars will be announced after the completion of first phase.
