BRUSSELS: German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that there is no chance that Britain will back out on its decision to leave the European Union.
Speaking at an EU event, the German Chancellor said that it was not a time to grief and sorrow for the Europe, adding that the continent should simply deal with whatever situation it was confronted with.
“I want to say very clearly tonight that I see no way to reverse this,” she said while terming outgoing British Prime Minister David Cameron as a “serious” but “friendly” person.
All the EU members now need to bravely look at the reality of the situation after the Brexit poll, instead of expecting for the hour of wishful thinking, she added.
The statement came as Prime Minister David Cameron vowed to establish some extraordinary ties with the European Union even after the implementation on Brexit.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel had requested Britain not to hurry implementation of the Brexit decision.
