RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa confirmed that six Army officers have been punished for corruption.
Speaking to media late on Tuesday, Lt-Gen Bajwa said that military courts were functioning on a daily basis and did not make any decisions in a hurry, he did not elaborate on the nature of charges which led to the punishments.
Lt. General Bajwa stated that a total of 207 cases are being heard at the military courts and that decisions regarding 88 of them have been made.
Bajwa rejected media reports that any inquiry was being held against former WZ Karachi corps commander Lt-Gen Sajjad Ghani and former Lahore Corps Commander Lt-Gen Naveed Zaman. “All reports in this regard are baseless,” he said.

Earlier on April 21, local media reported that Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif sent six army officers on forced retirement, including one lieutenant general and one major general. The sacked officers also included three brigadiers and one colonel. The officers served in the Frontier Corps (FC) in Balochistan.
